About Me
I received my undergraduate from Texas A&M University in 1993. I spent 11 years as the youth minister of a church running the teen program. During this time, counseling teens became my passion.
I went back to school for my Masters and graduated from Amberton University in 2004 with a Masters in Counseling. From 2004-2011, I worked for a non-profit organization as the Director of their at-risk youth program and the Clinical Director of the agency. During this time, I have gained experience not only counseling youth but families and married couples. I also have spent time working with adults in an individual counseling setting.
Currently, I am a licensed professional counselor in the State of Texas who has experience in counseling adults, adolescence. I also enjoy working with married couples and familes. I have also earned the right through experience and ongoing education to be a LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor - Supervisor). This given me the opportunitiy to mentor and guide new counselors seeking to grow from their intern status (LPC-intern) to full licensure (LPC). My focus is on helping the client change their behaviors and thoughts which in turn helps to create a better mood. I am willing to work with anyone although the client that truly wants to make positive changes will be the one that sees the most progress in sessions. I have an extensive history of serving the teens of North Texas and enjoys building a strong therapeutic relationship with them to strive to get them past their difficulties. Although I cannot guarantee success, I hope to understand your goals and help you to find the most productive ways to reach them using your strengths and even teaching you skills to find new ways to act and react in a situation.
